FE mesh density influence on blast loading analysis

Abstract To examine the influence of mesh density on blast loads anti-landmines (ALMs) and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) under an armored vehicle, models with different FE densities were numerically analysed. The multi-material arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian (MM-ALE) algorithm was used to simulate vehicle explosions. Explicit dynamic analysis performed in LS-DYNA. Blast loading simulation using ConWep (conventional weapon) model, which is implemented material characteristics high-strength steel model protective plates vehicle.
